COMMUNITY IMPACT
DEVELOPMENT

Friends of SCLARC subsidiary, Community Impact Development, participated in a partnership that worked to revitalize the corner of Adams Boulevard and Western Avenue

The partnership was formed in 2009 with the following partners: Friends of SCLARC, Genesis LA, Economic Growth Corporation, and Morgan Stanley. The undertaking involved acquiring property, creating a self-contained environment with adequate space to serve up to 250 employees and consultants and lastly, to create a welcoming environment with a secured plaza.

Together, this vision was fulfilled with the purchase of a vacant lot and the historic property that was the former headquarters for Golden State Mutual Life Insurance.

The ultimate goal was to revitalize a city block while providing a headquarter office for SCLARC to offer its consumers/families along the surrounding community a sense of place, pride, and improved quality of life.

The $55 million Legacy Project consisted of the construction, improvement, renovation, furnishings and equipping of a new building and the renovation and infrastructure improvement to an existing building with a combined leasable area of approximately 103,610 square feet to serve as the new headquarters of SCLARC.

The development team members consisted of Community Impact Development, AE3 Partners, Genesis LA, KSJ Contractors, Morgan Stanley, and Primestor Development Inc.
